On June 8th, 2011, The Academic Wino was born! Happy 10th Blogiversary to me!
10 years? 10 YEARS? I would never have guessed the blog would have come this far! I’ve had so many amazing opportunities come my way these past 10 YEARS, I can’t even begin to describe how incredibly grateful I am to all those who have believed in me and given me the chance to travel and experience the world of wine in the ways that have been offered to me. (sorry for the run-on sentence)
As you can probably tell, I haven’t been as active with writing this past year (or two, for that matter). With all the things going on personally in my life, including raising two small, very active children, I haven’t had as much time to devote to writing as I would like.
That being said, I’m not going anywhere and still plan to keep The Academic Wino alive and kicking! I may still only post once per month for a while, but as time goes on and my boys become less and less dependent on me, I imagine my posting frequency will increase yet again.
I am still very active in the world of wine, even if you don’t see it on this page. I am still Editor at Wine Industry Insight, where I am responsible for curating the news links for the daily News Fetch. - 2 Year Blogiversary: 2,738 Twitter followers and 488 “likes” on Facebook.
- 3 Year Blogiversary: 5,556 Twitter followers and 1304 Facebook “likes”.
- 4 Year Blogiversary: 9,767 Twitter followers and 1742 Facebook “likes”.
- 5 Year Blogiversary: 15,403 Twitter followers and 1945 Facebook “likes”.
- 6 Year Blogiversary: 17,808 Twitter followers and 2014 Facebook “likes”.
- 7 Year Blogiversary: 19,260 Twitter followers and 2146 Facebook “likes”
- 8 Year Blogiversary: 19,593 Twitter followers and 2301 Facebook “likes”
- 9 Year Blogiversary: 19,578 Twitter followers, 2551 Facebook “likes”, and 846 Instagram followers (I don’t know why I didn’t include IG until now in these stats).
- 10 Year Blogiversary: 19,935 Twitter followers, 2543 Facebook follows, and 907 Instagram followers
I’ve been really bad at social media lately. I’ve somewhat burned out on social media (as I think a lot of us are), so I’ve been doing the bare minimum. I really need to stop slacking off there, don’t I!
