Open Call for Guest Writers Starting December 2018

Greetings, thirsty readers!

Once again, I am putting a call out for wine writers to contribute to this site while I am on maternity leave for my second child due in mid-December.  I anticipate not focusing much on the blog during that time, so to have some interesting content from other writers in my absence would be a nice change of pace from my usual postings. I plan to start the guest posts as soon as my maternity leave starts, and will end them when I run out.

*NOTE: Not my baby or wine

How often I plan to schedule guest posts depends upon how many submissions I receive.  Ideally, I would like to post a new article once per week, but it very well may end up being every other week if I don’t have enough responses.

Guest Post Requirements

Any guest posts must be related to wine, and must have some sort of academic focus.  I realize this is very vague, but I’m looking for some variety so I didn’t want to restrict the topics!  I do also accept more “artistic” pieces that would fall under the “Fine Arts” discipline of academia.

You are not at all required to follow the rubric that you see on most of my posts, but the post still must be written with well-researched information and facts.

I will not accept any posts that are wine or winery reviews.

In terms of length, ideally I’m looking for something between 600 and 1500 words, though there can be a lot of wiggle room there for the right piece.

In terms of links, this isn’t a call for free advertising, so I will not include links to any businesses, storefronts, or anything of that nature.  I’m happy to link to your personal blogs or online CVs.  If you have a question about a particular link you’d like to include, please ask and I’ll let you know which category it falls into! I can be flexible, so don’t be immediately turned off if you’re uncertain about a particular link!

Please email me at becca@academicwino.com if you are interested in contributing as a guest writer.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you and welcoming some fresh voices to the blog in the next few months.

Cheers!
